Kremlin: On December 14, V. Putin will hold his year-end press conference

It will be his first annual press conference since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began.

“On December 14, Vladimir Putin will summarize the results of the year. It will be a combined format of a live show and the president’s press conference,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, referring to Putin’s live question-and-answer show.

D. Peskov added that this press conference will be broadcast on state television channels.

Putin, who has been in power since 2000, usually held two carefully staged “marathons” a year for most of his presidency.

One of them is a broadcast, during which people can ask questions by phone, and V. Putin also talks to people via video link, organized in specially selected places around the country.

Next is a press conference lasting several hours.

None of these events materialized last year as Russian forces continued their full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Next month, V. Putin is expected to announce that he will take part in presidential elections scheduled for March, which will likely extend his stay in power at least until the 2030s.
