THE COMMISSIONER of the General Election Commission (KPU) escaped the verdict or sanctions of the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) regarding the alleged violation of the code of ethics of election organizers (KEPP) regarding the selection process for members of the district/city KPU in North Kalimantan Province for the 2024-2029 period. In the hearing agenda read out on Monday (22/7), it was revealed that the complainant’s complaint had been withdrawn.

The decision was read by a member and head of the DKPP assembly Ratna Dewi Pettalolo accompanied by Tio Alinasyah and I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi. According to Ratna, Tuti Yuliati withdrew the complaint on June 6.

“Determining, stating, the complainant’s complaint is null and void by law and cannot be continued to the decision stage because Tuti Yulianti withdrew her complaint,” said Ratna in the courtroom.

“The assembly did not hold an examination hearing so it does not meet the requirements as a case of violation of the code of ethics for election organizers,” he continued.

Tuti’s complaint was registered with case number 64-PKE-DKPP/VI/2024. She filed a complaint against Hasyim Asy’ari, who at that time was still the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU, as Defendant I. Meanwhile, six other members of the Indonesian KPU, namely Betty Epsilon Idroos, Mochammad Afifuddin, Parsadaan Harahap, Yulianto Sudrajat, Idham Holik, and August Mellaz were listed as Defendants II-VII.

In her complaint, Tuti argued that all the respondents did not follow up on the report letter regarding alleged violations committed by the selection team (Timsel) in the selection process for Regency/City KPU Members in North Kalimantan Province for the 2024-2029 period.

However, in the examination hearing, Tuti was known to have withdrawn the complaint case through a letter sent to the DKPP on June 6. Regarding the letter, Rata said that both the chairman and members of the DKPP considered that the case complained by Tuti was not continued on the examination agenda. (Z-3)
