In the implementation of the 2024 district head election (pilkada), the General Election Commission (KPU) has planned rules related to the reporting of campaign funds. The distribution of campaign funds is done through the Campaign Information and Campaign Fund System (Sikadeka).

KPU member Idham Holik ensured that Sikadeka would not experience many disruptions or errors like the 2024 election recapitulation system, namely Sirekap.

“We ensure that this information system is user friendly and easily accessible to the public for the benefit of public information,” explained Idham at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Friday (2/8).

“Of course, this Sikadeka that we will use later for the purposes of reporting campaign funds is the result of improvements to the Sikadeka used in reporting campaign funds for the 2024 simultaneous elections,” added Idham.

In addition, reporting of campaign funds is not only mandatory for candidate pairs who are running in the regional election contest, but also for volunteers who participate in the campaign.

Volunteers involved in the campaign in the 2024 regional elections are required to report campaign funds used during their campaign. The regulation is stated in the draft KPU regulation in the 2024 regional elections.

The issue related to the transparency of campaign funds from sources outside the regional head and deputy regional head candidates running in the regional election contest has indeed been raised for a long time.

However, Idham said, this year the KPU is serious about regulating campaign funding sources from volunteers and all volunteers involved are required to register with the KPU. (P-2)
