The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation (OTT) against state officials in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, Friday (2/8).
“It is true that there are KPK investigator activities in Balikpapan, but we cannot provide more detailed information because it is still ongoing,” said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika in a short message quoted by Antara, Friday (2/8).
However, Tessa has not been able to provide further information regarding state administrators or any parties caught in the OTT or other matters related to the activity because the investigation team is still in the field.
The Corruption Eradication Committee conducted a search of the shophouse from around 13.00 WITA until around 18.00 WITA.
A number of officers from the anti-corruption agency were seen carrying three suitcases from the shophouse.
When a number of journalists confirmed the location of the OTT in the South Balikpapan area, the two-story gray shophouse was closed. There was no activity visible in the shophouse.
Beside the shophouse, there is a third-floor shophouse that is under renovation and still operating. (Ant/P-5)
