The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will prepare an acting head (Plt) for the head of the detention center (karutan) following Achmad Fauzi was detained for being a suspect in a case of illegal levies (extortion).
“Yes, of course, administratively, we will appoint the Plt, who will be the Secretary General,” said Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron in Jakarta, Sunday (17/3).
Ghufron has not been able to provide details regarding Achmad’s temporary replacement. Currently, the current position is still empty and a replacement must be immediately sought.
“There cannot be an empty position,” said Ghufron.
The KPK named 15 suspects in this case. They are the Head of the KPK Detention Center, Achmad Fauzi, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government civil servant (PNS) Hengki, six civil servants assigned (PNYD) to the KPK Deden Rochendi, Sopian Hadi, Ristanta, Ari Rahman Hakim, Agung Nugroho, and Eri Angga Permana.
Meanwhile, seven other people are security officers at the KPK branch detention center. They are Muhammad Ridwan, Suharlan, Ramadhana Ubaidillah A, Mahdi Aris, Wardoyo, Muhammad Abduh, and Ricky Rachmawanto.
Due to their behavior, the employees involved in extortion are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 2001 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.
