THE Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the public to be patient while waiting for the evidence process related to the alleged acceptance of gratuities involving the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, who is also the youngest son of President Joko Widodo.
KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardika, in her statement on Saturday (14/9), explained that handling of the alleged gratification against Kaesang has now been focused on the Directorate of Public Complaints Service Reception (PLPM).
“The alleged gratification of Mr. K has been focused on the handling process at the PLPM Directorate regarding the report received,” said Tessa.

According to Tessa, the process is confidential so the KPK cannot access further details about who was summoned for questioning. “I was not given access to information because it is confidential. So I don’t know who was summoned, when, what the material is and so on. So we just wait for the process,” she said.
Tessa added that the KPK’s Gratification Directorate has submitted all the collected materials to the PLPM Directorate, which is currently handling the report. Kaesang and Bobby Nasution, President Joko Widodo’s son-in-law, can clarify the alleged gratification through the KPK website.
The report against Kaesang was submitted by the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), Boyamin Saiman, and a lecturer at the Jakarta State University (UNJ), Ubaidilah Badrun, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. They reported Kaesang on suspicion of criminal acts of corruption related to receiving gratuities in the form of private jet facilities.
The Corruption Eradication Committee also mentioned that there was a report in the name of Bobby Nasution, but did not reveal the identity of the reporter.
Previously, a video emerged showing Kaesang Pangarep and his wife, Erina Gudono, using a private jet type Gulfstream G650 with flight number N588SE on a trip to the United States. While public attention was still focused on the private jet, a photo also emerged of the President’s son-in-law, Bobby Nasution, and his wife Kahiyang using a private jet. The photo was taken at the former Polonia Airport in Medan which now functions as Soewondo Air Force Base. (Z-8)
