The sight of the tied dog being dragged tied to an agricultural vehicle by its owner in a village of Kozani caused a shock.
In the narrow streets of the village of Lefkopigi in Kozani, the owner of the dog was driving his loaded car, having tied his pet with a rope on the right side of the vehicle. The 82-year-old driver, speaking on the Live News show, admitted his act and justified it: “I was going slowly and I saw him from the mirror.”
“It was next to here, we didn’t even go 500 meters. I had it next to the rope and it followed normally, not crawling. Nothing happened. He went to the vet and everything just fine,” said the dog’s owner.
A case file was filed against the 82-year-old, while the dog was taken to the vet as a precaution in order to do the necessary tests.
An eyewitness revealed: “The little dog was clearly in distress, you could see in his eyes and his tongue that he couldn’t breathe well. There was tension on the road, they tried to stop the 82-year-old but he didn’t want to come to his senses.”
The veterinarian who examined the animal did not detect any injury. “The sight is appalling, if the dog tripped the owner didn’t have a good line of sight to see it,” continued the eyewitness who witnessed the scene.
According to reports, the driver reportedly said the dog was dangerous and due to the loaded undercarriage of his vehicle, he could not put the dog on the farm. However, he himself states that he loves his pet very much.
A heavy fine will be imposed on the 82-year-old while a trial is expected to be set.
