Seoul (South Korea): North Korea has been hit hard by Kovid’s rapid spread. The country that had resisted in previous years when the world bowed before Kovid has recently rapidly surrendered to Kovid. Millions of new cases are reported. Health officials say 50 people have died and more than 1.2 million have been diagnosed with the disease in the three days since the outbreak.
President Kim Jong Un has criticized the government for delaying the distribution of medicines to Kovid victims in the country. Kovid in the capital, Pyongyang, has reportedly deployed troops to 19 affected areas to provide emergency assistance and stabilize drug supply.
South Korean President Yoon Sook-yol has promised to help North Korea, including with vaccines and medicines. However, there are still concerns regarding whether foreign aid will be accepted. The North Korean government has been accused of hiding the number of people killed by Kovid.
