The two ÖTV talents only lose in the girls’ doubles final at their home game in Lower Austria.

At the end of the Tennis Europe tournament season in Austria, another U14 youth event took place last week at TC Höllrigl Kottingbrunn. With mixed success for the red-white-red young aces. Anna Kotchetkov and Yara Ortner came closest to winning the title: the Viennese and the Styrian reached the final in the girls’ doubles at the Tennis Europe Category 3 clay court tournament called the Kottingbrunn Open. There they first had to admit defeat to Kseniia Ruchkina (Russia) and Karolina Smidova (Czech Republic) 2:6, 1:6 – the top seeds who had already eliminated Avril Illetschko and Anna Posch 6:2, 6:4 in the semifinals . For Kotchetkov and Ortner it was their first participation in the Tennis Europe final, but in the end they didn’t manage to win their first title.

In the girls’ individual competition, only Kara Fronek made it to the quarter-finals, where the Viennese lost 2:6, 0:6 to the eventual double winner, Ruchkina, who was also top ranked here. For the boys, Felix Raser and Simon Holzfeind each made it into the last eight, with the latter also losing out to the eventual double winner with the top-ranked Slovenian Patrik Semenic. In the doubles competition, Noah Brunner and Simon Friessnegger made it to the semi-finals, while Semenic triumphed alongside the German Benjamin Wagner.
