The permission for the transaction, the value of which is not disclosed, was granted by the Competition Council in July.
“By acquiring the rights to The Body Shop brand in the Baltic countries, we are expanding both the geography of our operations and our offer. “The Body Shop” stores in the Baltic countries create the basis for the regional development of “Kosmelitas”, which already manages the largest chain of beauty and cosmetic products in Lithuania. This will also allow us to offer even more products of this brand, which is loved by customers, in all the stores of our network”, says Arvydas Šapola, director of Kosmelitas.
“Kosmelita” currently manages 120 “Eurokos” stores in Lithuania, 4 new concept “Ekos” stores in Rimi, 2 “Holland&Barrett” stores in Vilnius, and from now on – 20 “The Body Shop” stores in the Baltic States. This year alone, “Kosmelita” expanded its sales area by 2,600 sq.m. meters.
The 48-year-old British brand The Body Shop offers more than 900 skin, hair and body care and cosmetics products. There are 7 stores of this brand each in Lithuania and Latvia, 6 in Estonia.
“Kosmelita” sells goods of 507 suppliers from 42 countries.
The company’s income last year reached 54.5 million. EUR, when in 2022 – 46.1 million EUR, net profit – 3.7 million. EUR (2 million EUR in 2022).
