Korea’s Olympic soccer team advanced to the finals of the Asian Under-23 Cup, where qualification for next year’s Paris Olympics is at stake.
Our national team, led by coach Hwang Seon-hong, won 3-0 over Myanmar in the final match of Group B of the group stage held at the Changwon Soccer Center, with Baek Sang-hoon scoring the opening goal in the first half, followed by Jeon Byeong-gwan and Oh Jae-hyuk scoring consecutive goals in the second half.
Our national team, which passed the preliminaries in first place in Group B, will participate in its 10th consecutive Olympic Games if it ranks in the top three in next year’s finals.
