Korean Air flight from Turkiye to Incheon makes an emergency landing due to an aircraft defect

A Korean Air flight from Turkiye to Incheon made an emergency landing at Baku Airport, Azerbaijan due to an aircraft defect.

Korean Air flight KE9956, which departed from Istanbul International Airport at around 6:30 pm local time yesterday (9th), was scheduled to arrive at Incheon International Airport at 10:30 am today (10th), but made an emergency landing due to engine vibration problem.

A Korean Air spokesperson said, “About an hour and a half following departure, vibration was detected from the engine, so we changed our destination to the nearest airport, Baku Airport, Azerbaijan, and landed.

There were 215 passengers on the plane at the time, and Korean Air is preparing an alternative flight and is scheduled to depart around 12 noon today.
