Last week, North Korea’s foreign ministry said its nuclear and missile development program was “legitimate and understandable.”

In 2022, when North Korea continuously tests missiles, the US and its allies regularly increase pressure on the country with sanctions and joint military exercises and cooperation.

The administrations of US President Joe Biden or South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol both tend to be tougher on North Korea.
