Busan New Port Emergency Economic People’s Livelihood Meeting… Kang Seok-hoon “Good coordination of interests”
On the 31st, President Kang Seok-hoon of Korea Development Bank announced his will to expedite the relocation of Korea Development Bank to Busan, which is President Yoon Seok-yeol’s presidential campaign promise.
In the closing remarks of the 7th emergency economic livelihood meeting held at Hanjin Terminal in Busan New Port in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, President Yoon said, “The Korea Development Bank has moved to the Busan-Gyeonggyeong (Busan/Ulsan/Gyeongnam) area to achieve maritime urbanization, logistics urbanization, and high-tech science industry urbanization. We must play an essential role in the path of the future,” said Kang In-seon, spokesman for the presidential office, in a written briefing.
Spokesperson Kang explained that this is a statement to the effect that the Korea Development Bank should act as a financial support hub in order to advance into foreign financial institutions or attract foreign investment.
Chairman Kang replied, “We will try to promote the relocation as quickly as possible by coordinating our interests and working closely with the relevant ministries to ensure that KDB’s competitiveness is not undermined.”
President Yoon also said, “If a high-tech science and technology complex that can lead science and technology and the 4th industrial revolution enters Busan, which is a port, the effect of reducing logistics costs will be great due to geographical conditions. We need to promote national development,” he said.
