The colorful “Superbloom Festival” attracts people to the Munich Olympic Park, an event full of surprises!

Mind, so I took the tour and arrived in Munich on Friday night so I could be at the festival early on Saturday.

It was super hot and finding the right queue was not easy, especially since all the tourists seemed to show up at the same time. I even got the wrong tape and later cut it out and got the correct tape. And all this took place under the scorching sun at noon. But I was still in a good mood, the first few days of the festival always have some problems.
We looked for the main stage of the stadium and soon we discovered that the road to the stadium was already very long. I slowly gave up on my plans to visit the smaller stages because the distance was just too far. But I don’t want to worry about my plans for now and just want to enjoy the performance of the first band.
The first highlight of the Super Bloom Festival is “tokyo hotel”. I expected glitter and I got glitter! Bill Kaulitz showed up in a sparkling mirror costume, which I thought was lurid. The music is almost a bit irrelevant and really just about the grandiose showmanship. Bill stood on the podium first, then he danced a lewd dance, changed two more outfits, and didn’t skimp on old songs. I was so excited – even though I didn’t know any pop music and could only sing along to “Through the Monsoon,” the costumes alone were worth going there!
My next project is waiting on the side stage, namely “Nothing but thieves”. This group doesn’t really fit into Superbloom’s lineup, but I’m glad to see them (they’re a minor bright spot in the mainstream swamp). I watched the band perform on stage several times during this period and each time nothing happened. Their appearance at the Munich Stadium also shone with a quiet brilliance. Sometimes there’s some clapping and two or three jumps from side to side, but that’s about it.
But at least they’ve got all the hits in mind, and I think that’s the great luck of Except for Thieves. They can deliver such great rock music that they don’t have to bother with a great live show. And: again I’m glad “Amsterdam” is sung in the right key. I couldn’t ask for more from the band! (They can’t give more in hot weather)
In theory I’d like to see a few smaller stages after Nothing but Thieves, but more importantly finally get something to eat. The problem is, it feels like every festival-goer has the same idea. The queues at the food stalls were always long and there was a sausage stall at every other stall. We searched the entire festival area and finally queued up at the shortest one, the shady beer garden, where we could finally get something to eat.
Then we hurried back to the stadium. The next item on the show was “Niall Horan” and due to the large number of (One Direction/Niall Horan) fans showing up wearing unique t-shirts we knew we had to get there early to get in one of the wavebreakers up front. After standing in the sun for hours, I just wanted to sit down. I admit this is not a festival where everyone gets a chance to be at the front. Only the most extreme people reach the top. But I think this limb is too old and too hot.
So we found a place to sit down and watch the sunset, “Crow“, he’s still making the same music as he was 10 years ago. It feels a bit like a head massage – Cro’s songs are so calming and flow through you, his songs are really great for resting!
It was getting crowded and we decided to just sit there. Looking for another place seemed like too much effort. After a short wait, things continued to the next stage: “Sam Smith”. I had completely forgotten that I would see “Sam Smith” that day, and sure enough it was as expected: great songs, great set design, great acting, including costumes and dancing! Full marks, nothing to criticize at all.

When we arrived at the site it was still sunny but was becoming increasingly hazy and humid. Rain was inevitable, but we wanted to explore the area while it was still dry.
At some point we made another pilgrimage to the stadium and this time we didn’t even try to get to the front and see each other”of flowersFrom a little further away. I wasn’t expecting much and what can I say, it kind of sucked. The singer stands on stage with her giant nail claws and tries to captivate us with minimal movement, devastating music and her electronic sounds. But capturing someone with a stage show that doesn’t exist doesn’t work.
Again we looked for seats so we could comfortably watch the next artist perform. “Milky opportunity“On a stage,”Jorja Smith“On another stage. What they all have in common is this: once you’ve seen them, whether it’s the songs or the live performance, nothing changes. I’m bored, but at least I have friends to talk to about God and the world.
After a lot of boring scenes, I’m really excited for my next project on the show. I quickly rushed to the stage on the other side of the festival venue in order to catch the “show” in time to start.beach“Being there. The fact that the all-female group blew me away was so easy. We made our way back to the stadium comfortably, looking for a (wet) seat and finally checked out a former One Direction singer, aka “Louis Tomlinson”. I am full of expectations, because with so many fans’ collections, the quality must be good, right?
But then what I experienced left me speechless. And not in a positive sense. “Louis Tomlinson” stood on stage singing sub-par pop songs in a rather terrible squeaky voice, and I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone could think this show, including this artist, was good. I’m extremely disappointed that any of the song settings don’t get better, just more irrelevant and boring. And, like Niall Horan, One Direction’s songs stand out from the drab. “Louis Tomlinson” – no thanks, never again.
One last time I sprinted in the rain to the little stage at the other end to hype up”only poets“Just checking it out. I’ve tried listening to it several times, but to me, this band doesn’t have the slightest hit potential. Maybe that’s why I’m so curious.
In fact, “only the poet” lived a better life than recorded. But you have to give the singer credit for trying so hard to put on a great show. His movements were frantic, while the rest of the orchestra played their instruments rather stiffly. At least someone tried! We left the stage mid-show – it was raining heavily and we were aiming for covered seats in the stadium!
We arrived at the stadium and were delighted with the good seats, but realized that they were both a blessing and a curse. They were a blessing because they protected us from the heavy rain, but they were also a curse because you basically couldn’t hear anything about the concert in the stands. Just very quiet and blurry. That’s why I always have the feeling that I’m watching other people go to a concert, but I’m not going to it myself. Very strange.

In the end, I realized that the “Superbloom Festival” is not a festival for music fans, but a festival for vibes fans. Come to the stadium where many great artists have performed, take a Choachella-like Instagram photo in front of the Ferris wheel, and drink lots of Aperol Spritz (or any other drink). It’s not about visiting the small stages to discover the music, the small stages are more of an alibi for the other side. Effectively, it’s an all-day stadium festival with some festive elements. I am grateful that I was able to see this festival and equally grateful that I now know which festival I no longer want to attend.
