Konstantinos Floros is in court to apologize for the episode in Parliament – 2024-04-26 17:03:12

The independent member of parliament from the Spartans, Konstantinos Floros, was brought by GADA at noon on Thursday to the courts of the former Evelpidon school to apologize in front of the investigator following the punch he threw in the Parliament to the member of Hellenic Solution, Vassilis Grammenos.

According to information, K. Floros will not apologize immediately, since ND MPs, Simopoulos and Monogiou, and the independent and former Spartan, Valtogiannis, are expected to testify as witnesses in his defense. According to the defendant, there was no beating, a fact that will be proven by the three deputies and the policeman who stepped in the middle to separate them.

Konstantinos Floros is charged with a felony for assaulting a member of parliament in the performance of his duties (Article 157 of the Civil Code) for the attack on the Hellenic Solution member of parliament at noon on Wednesday.

“He cursed my mother”

In his statements to ANT1 today, the independent MP emphasized that he reacted when Grammenos cursed his mother and categorically denied punching him.

“The whole incident started with Mr. Chita’s speech regarding the removal of Mr. Velopoulos’ immunity that comes from a lawsuit that my father filed regarding 2-2.5 years ago for defamation through a fake account on X. Therefore, Mr. Chitas, on his speech, said that Mr. Velopoulos has nothing to do with this specific case. At that moment I turned around and simply told him that ‘that will be decided by the courts, not you’. At that moment, unnecessarily and without me having spoken to him, Mr. Grammenos jumped up and said to me, ‘shut it up, you trash’. I turn around and say to him ‘come c…’ and he says ‘I’ll give you c… you’. I say to him ‘what did you say’. He leaves at that moment and I sit back in my seat,” Floros initially told ANT1.

“He comes back provokingly, he handcuffed me, he tells me ‘you, your mother will f… old…’, he tells me ‘remember, they will take you inside handcuffed’. I leave at that moment, because I don’t tolerate anyone cursing my mother who is the most sacred thing I have and I think it is for the whole world, I went out to the entrance, the guard of the Parliament was there, Mr. Grammenos was there too. He tells me ‘get out of here, get out of my face’. He pushes me and at that moment I turn around, grab him by the collar and throw him down. No punches they’ve reported, not the slightest. And that’s where the issue ended, people gathered, separated us and nothing else happened.”

When asked if he punched the Hellenic Solution MP, who suffered a broken nose, Floros was categorical: “Never, never.”

“I absolutely respect the sacred role of mother”

For his part, Vassilis Grammenos today expressed his respect for the sacred role of the mother in his message regarding yesterday’s incident in Parliament with Konstantinos Floros.

The Hellenic Solution MP clarified that he never addressed the former Spartan MP and expressed his trust in the Greek justice system for the development of this specific case.

“I absolutely respect the sacred role of the Greek mother. I come from a large family, I grew up with my mother. I am the father of three minor children. I did not abuse and did not go into the process of addressing this particular person. I am sorry and saddened that my fellow journalists did not cross-check what he himself told them was false to justify his heinous act. I completely trust the Greek justice system and I am eagerly awaiting the decision of the chief investigator” he said in his message to ANT1.
