KONI CHAIRMAN Marciano Norman is optimistic that Indonesia’s modern pentathlon sport under the leadership of General Chairman Purwoko Aji Prabowo can be more enthusiastic regarding presenting proud achievements.
“We know that modern Indonesian pentathlon has recorded proud achievements in presenting 4 gold medals and has since become the overall champion at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines. I am sure that under the leadership of Purwoko Aji Prabowo, modern Indonesian pentathlon will be even more enthusiastic regarding presenting and achieving proud achievements,” said Marciano when giving a speech at the Inauguration and Inauguration of the Indonesian Modern Pentathlon Central Management (PP MPI) for the 2024-2028 term, Wednesday (3/4), at the KONI Building, Jakarta.
On that occasion, Purwoko revealed plans to send Indonesian modern pentathlon athletes to international championships in Thailand, South Korea and Lithuania.
“We will send athletes to take part in championships in Thailand, South Korea and Lithuania,” said Purwoko.
“We want to continue to perfect the abilities of modern Indonesian pentathlon athletes so that their abilities are qualified so that they can later fulfill KONI’s hopes of presenting proud achievements in the arena of the SEA Games, Asian Games and even the Olympics,” he stressed.
For domestic programs, his party will soon hold a National Working Meeting in Yogyakarta to perfect the AD/ART and also programs to advance athlete achievements. (Z-6)
