Director of Informatics Application Control at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Teguh Arifiyadi emphasized that if any ministry employee is caught playing online gambling, they can be subject to strict sanctions in the form of dismissal or dismissal.
“The Minister of Communication and Information has issued a circular to all Communication and Information employees stating that if they are proven to be playing online gambling, they will be subject to heavy sanctions, up to and including dismissal,” said Teguh in Central Jakarta, Friday (28/6).
Meanwhile, at the beginning of last year, the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, issued a letter of instruction to all Kominfo employees prohibiting them from communicating with parties involved in online gambling.
So communication alone is not allowed, let alone forming or facilitating. Every employee in detail their accounts and social media activities are profiled to ensure that they are not indicated to facilitate online gambling and the like.
In addition, Teguh explained that Kominfo cannot see who is playing online gambling, including ASN, while those who can see or detect it are the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) based on transaction patterns.
“We have discussed with PPATK. Then PPATK also met with the Minister of Communication and Information, it turns out that it is visible, for example, how do you know that members of the DPR or DPRD play online gambling, it can be seen that the account owner, for example, buys tokens, buys chips, how much is the transaction,” said Teguh.
“So how many times the transaction and it was detected in their transactions both in e-wallet and bank accounts,” he concluded. (Z-10)
