With rank 24, David Komatz once more managed a solid race.

Johannes Thingnes Boe is still unbeatable at the Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof (GER) and secured his fourth gold medal in the title competitions in Thuringia in today’s individual race over 20 km. The Norwegian season dominator was in a class of his own, especially on the cross-country ski run, had to accept a total of two penalty minutes and ultimately prevailed over his compatriot Sturla Holm Laegreid (1 penalty) with a lead of 1:10.7 minutes. As in the pursuit, bronze went to Sebastian Samuelsson of Sweden (+1:11.1 min./1 missed shot).

In the absence of Simon Eder, who was unable to compete today due to illness, David Komatz once more ensured the best Austrian result of the day. The Styrian, who only missed two shots in the second prone stage, finished 24th, 5:12.5 minutes behind. Dominic Unterweger and Harald Lemmerer finished 60th and 82nd.

VOICE:

David Komatz (Rank 24): “In terms of running, I have a lot planned for today, but I probably started the race a bit too cautiously. Unfortunately, I made these two mistakes on the second prone stage, which I didn’t even notice at the moment. These errors really annoyed me and unfortunately prevented a better result. After Sunday, an upward trend was definitely recognizable today and we are now seeing that we can improve on that from race to race in the second week of competition.”
