Kottayam ∙ Kollam Sudhi has been a native of Kottayam Vakathanam for 5 years, though she added her hometown Kollam to her name. After marriage, Sudhi lived in his wife Reshma’s hometown of Vakathana. He lived in a rented house near Vakathanam Panchayat office for 2 years.

Later, Ponganthanam shifted to another rented house in Panthirupara Colony. Due to financial difficulties, he moved once more to the house next to this one last month. The address is Pudukkattil. If they saw Sudhi on the road in the evening, passers-by and locals would rush to take selfies.

Neighbors say that friends from the art and mime scene used to visit Sudhi at home. If the stars seen on TV come home, the locals will also come running. People from many places would come home with pictures of Sudhi and greeting cards they had drawn. Sudhi’s mother-in-law Kunjamma says that following the show in Gulf next month, Sudhi was planning to buy her own house in Wakathanam.

The house, which used to be full of laughter and noise when Sudhi arrived, was plunged into sadness yesterday. Sudhi’s friends came home since morning. Officials of Mimicry Artists Association (MA) also came to Ponganthanam’s house. Friend and actor Kannan Sagar said that Sudhi had told her the other day how happy she was to get roles in new films.
