The Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) released the official uniform of the Indonesian contingent for the 2024 Paris Olympics designed by Indonesian designer Didit Hediprasetyo.

The launch of the official uniforms of the Indonesian contingent was held at The Darmawangsa, Jakarta, Thursday (4/7), accompanied by a photo exhibition of models wearing various types of uniforms, as well as a live exhibition of the uniforms.

Didit revealed that the design of the Indonesian contingent uniform that he designed was inspired by the song Berkibarlah Benderaku.

“At that time, I was looking for inspiration for this collection. I did some research and found (the inspiration) from listening to the song Berkibarlah Benderaku. That was the inspiration for this Red and White jersey,” said Didit at the launch of the uniform.

For the 2024 Paris Olympics, there are two sets of official uniforms and attributes that must be worn by athletes, KOI officials, and the Chef de Mission (CdM) team during the inauguration, sending off of the contingent, departure, return, and official events related to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In addition, there is also a set of special motif uniforms that will be worn during the medal reception. In addition, the Red and White contingent is also equipped with an additional set of uniforms that will be used during training and in official areas.

Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo did not hesitate to praise the designs of the Indonesian contingent’s uniforms.

“The 2024 Paris Olympics are special because the location is in Paris. Paris is the benchmark for the fashion world, and we see that in recent weeks (other) countries have announced their jerseys and are not playing around, all of them are using top-class designers. Indonesia, thank God, has Mas Didit and we know that his name is very brilliant in the international world,” said Dito.

KOI General Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari also warmly welcomed all forms of Didit’s contribution to the Indonesian contingent.

“Because Didit not only answered spontaneously when it was first delivered, yes, I want to be involved in the Olympics
movement. And it’s not just the design, it turns out that the finances are also assisted by the Didit Hediprasetyo Foundation. And this is an extraordinary contribution, this is also an example to all parties that Indonesia’s sporting achievements are not only the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, KOI, or sports branches,” said Okto.

“However, all of us Indonesian sports people have a role to contribute with the best support to our athletes who raise our honor and dignity in the highest world sporting event, namely the Olympics,” he added.

Indonesia has qualified 29 athletes to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The world’s largest sporting event will take place from July 26 to August 11. (Ant/Z-1)
