Köhn (8) : concentrated from start to finish, he was only beaten by a penalty from Bourigeaud. Before and after, he rejected everything and disgusted the people of Rennes. He was right on the foot like on the second goal. He managed the depth against Kalimuendo (23′) and made a magnificent reflex save on Theate’s header (79′), before flying away from Nagida’s shot (90’+4). Monaco owes him a lot.
Singo (5) : he came close to being sent off after hitting Yildirim who was running to challenge Köhn (69′). For the rest, he used his speed and calm to stop the Rennes attackers.
Zakaria (4) : he cut crosses and countered Gouiri in a good position (16′), but he is not a central defender and it shows in his positioning. Impatient, he commits gross fouls on attackers with their backs to goal, systematically looking for an interception.
Salisu (6) : after months of hardship and treatment, he finally put on his jersey with the number 22 and played his first minutes with ASM. He took few risks in the restart and was comfortable in the short game. His heading will do good on both surfaces. He could have opened the scoring from a corner (8′). An interesting first.
Vanderson (6): hungry, he won the majority of his defensive duels. Very forward-leaning, he had incessant activity rewarded by his second goal of the season. But logically excluded for an unnecessary foul on Omari (75′), he let his team finish with ten men, making them vulnerable.
Breath (6): his projections are a strength of the ASM (8′, 17′, 68′). Armband on his arm, he behaved like a boss, with technical accuracy as in the perfect opening he sent to Balogun (41′). He tarnishes his score because of the penalty he concedes, which he admitted in the mixed zone.
Camara (4) : rewarded after his good performance against Montpellier, he continued. Sentinel in front of the defense, he had waste in sequences, like in the action where Minamino saves the homeland. Replaced by DIOP (81′).
Jakobs (5) : he placed several crosses in the area including the one which led to Vanderson’s goal. He didn’t make any mistakes defensively even if he can still provide more security.
Minamino (5) : the Japanese was very discreet. Despite his will, he created little imbalance. But his miraculous save at the end of the match prevented Rennes from equalizing. Replaced by DIATTA (79′).
Golovin (6): he displayed his technique in this role of left relay, close to Fofana and Camara. His ability to turn around and move his team forward is as valuable as ever. His pass for Jakobs at 1-0 illustrates his foresight. Active in dry cleaning.
Balogun (6) : generous and available on the entire attacking front, the American weighs on the defenses. Selfless on Vanderson’s goal, he would have deserved to score. Unfortunately, his header escaped the target (32′) and his off-center shot was stopped by Mandanda (41′).
