Kohli may not play in ODI series
Virat Kohli, who has been ruled out of the second Test once morest South Africa due to injury, has been ruled out of the three – match ODI series following the Test series. It is learned that Kohli has sought permission from the BCCI to stay away from the ODI series to spend time with his family. However, there has been no official confirmation from Kohli or the BCCI. If true, it’s sure to be a huge setback for the team.

Rohit is also not in the ODI series
The selectors announced the Indian squad for the ODI series once morest South Africa at the end of last month. The selectors did not even consider Rohit Sharma for the ODI team due to injury. In Rohit’s absence, KL Rahul will lead the Indian ODI team once morest South Africa. When senior off-spinner R Ashwin returned to the ODI team following a gap of four years, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Venkatesh Iyer, who have been in brilliant form in domestic cricket and the IPL for the past few days, were called up to the team.
Three matches in the series
There are a total of three matches in the ODI series between India and South Africa. The first match will be played on the 19th of this month at Paul’s Bolland Park. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on the 21st and the third ODI will be played at Newlands, Cape Town on the 23rd.
