The final Test between India and Australia will be played in Ahmedabad on Thursday. If they win this, the Indian team will come out with increased strength as they will get a chance to face Australia in the final of the World Test Championship. India won the first two Tests convincingly and lost the third by nine wickets. Indore was only India’s third loss at home in 10 years.

The fourth Test between India and Australia and the Sri Lanka-New Zealand series starting on the same day will decide the fate of the final of the World Test Championship. Sri Lanka is the threat in front of India. India’s average score of 64.06 before the start of the third Test dropped to 60.29 following losing by nine wickets. But currently it is in second place. Had India won the third Test, they might have entered the final. A win in the fourth Test will take the points average to 62.5 and India will be able to reach the final without depending on the Sri Lanka-New Zealand clash. However, if India lose or draw, the average score will be 58.79 points. If Sri Lanka win both the matches once morest New Zealand, the points average will reach 61.11 and Sri Lanka will reach the final.

New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets in the first World Test Championship final held in England.
