Kodiyeri re-elected CPI (M) state secretary Kerala | Deshabhimani

B Raghavan Nagar / Kochi> Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will once once more lead the CPI (M) state unit with the experience of struggle and the shining face of leadership. General Secretary Sitaram Yechury announced that Kodiyeri has been unanimously elected as the Secretary of the State Conference which concluded in Kochi today. This is the third consecutive time that Kodiyeri has become the State Secretary. Kodiyeri, 70, is a politburo member and editor – in – chief of Deshabhimani. The conference elected an 88-member state committee and a 17-member secretariat.

Kodiyeri first took over the leadership in 2015 when Pinarayi Vijayan vacated his seat at the Alappuzha conference. Subsequently, at the conference held in Thrissur in 2018, Kodiyeri was elected as the secretary. Due to illness, he resigned from the post of Secretary for a year in 2020. A Vijayaraghavan was the secretary during that period.

There are 16 newcomers on the committee. MM Varghese, AV Russell, EN Sureshbabu, CV Varghese, Panoli Watson, Raju Abraham, AA Rahim, VP Sanu, Dr. KN Ganesh, KS Saleekha, KK Lathika, P Sasi, K Anilkumar, V Joy, OR Kellu, Dr. Thought Jerome is the newcomer to the committee. 12 people left the committee. P Karunakaran, Vaikom Vishwan, Ananthalawattam Anandan, KJ Thomas, MM Mani, M Chandran, K Anantha Gopan, R Unnikrishna Pillai, G Sudhakaran, Koliakode Krishnan Nair, CP Narayanan and James Mathew were excluded.

Kodiyeri, who entered the public sphere through the student movement, is notable for his excellent organization and extraordinary leadership. Kodiyeri, who has proved his mettle in the parliamentary arena and as an administrator, has done a brilliant job as party secretary. He showed strength in moving the party forward unitedly, resisting the onslaught of the enemy and exposing the lies of the right wing media.
