Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Prominent actor Kochupreman (KS Premkumar – 68) passed away. Died at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Due to physical discomfort, he was admitted to the hospital in the followingnoon. He was active in theater before coming to cinema. He has also acted in serials. He won applause in Tamasha roles and character roles.

He was born in Peyad, Thiruvananthapuram district. He was educated in Peyad Government School. Later he graduated from MG College. He was active in theater since his childhood. He directed a play for the first time in the 8th standard. The play was taken seriously when it was part of the play Jwalamukhi by Jagathi NK Achari. Then he became a part of the famous drama societies of Thiruvananthapuram.

The name Kochupreman was adopted because a friend with the same name was in the drama committee. Seven Colors is the first movie. After a long hiatus, he is acting in director Rajasen’s Dilliwala Prince. He later acted in Father of Twins. He then played many notable roles in the film. He has acted in more than two hundred films. His wife is serial star Girija. Son: Harikrishnan.
