Kobo unveils the Clara 2E, a good alternative to the Kindle Paperwhite

Kobo has just launched pre-orders for its new e-reader: the Kobo Clara 2E. The tablet features a 6-inch e-ink screen as well as 16 GB of storage, which corresponds to approximately 12,000 e-books or 75 audio books. It has the particularity of being completely waterproof up to 2m deep (IPX8).

The Clara 2E is backlit and includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, which will be practical for reading audio books on wireless headphones. Kobo announces ” weeks of autonomy », although the whole is brought to vary according to the use which is made of the machine.

The exterior of the tablet is made with over 85% recycled plastic, while the magnet-free packaging is also more environmentally friendly. The Kobo Clara E2 will be available on September 22 at Fnac and can already be pre-ordered on the Rakuten website pour 150 €.

This new e-reader therefore competes with the Paperwhite: the Amazon tablet released at the end of 2021 is usually offered at the same price (although it is currently more affordable on sale). If it has a slightly larger screen, it only has 8 GB of storage and is not Bluetooth compatible. Amazon is expected to revamp its lineup in the coming months, possibly with a competitor to the Remarkable.
