KO Danninger on Vice Chancellor Kogler: “Anyone who formulates so radically strengthens political margins”

St. Pölten (OTS) – Jochen Danninger, club chairman of the People’s Party of Lower Austria, criticizes that Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler repeated his “completely otherworldly accusation of pre-fascism” in the ZIB2: “The word normal apparently triggers an ideological bite reflex among the Greens. The Greens attack those who address the concerns and fears of people in the broad middle of society with the fascist club. This is still a serious gaffe. Anyone who formulates things as radically as Werner Kogler scares away the people of the middle, who are irritated and turn away from politics. In this way, Kogler strengthens the political fringes even more and acts as a stirrup holder for the radical forces once morest which the vice chancellor actually wants to warn. That is just irresponsible.”

In addition, Danninger missed a clear stance on the part of the Vice-Chancellor towards the actions of the climate stickers: “Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler once once more shied away from a clear condemnation of the climate stickers. We need tougher penalties for climate stickers and no attempts to relativize these unacceptable actions. I have absolutely no sympathy for this chaos troupe who ruthlessly obstruct emergency services and people who drive to work. The Greens must finally state unequivocally that they have no sympathy for such actions.”

And the Greens club chairwoman Sigrid Maurer (in the APA interview) and Transport Minister Leonore Gewessler (in the Ö1-Morgen-Journal) “join in the outrage of Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler. However, repeated repetition does not make the criticism more correct. It would be more correct and more important if the Minister of Transport finally fulfilled her responsibility and promoted and implemented federal road construction projects in Lower Austria. The commuters who depend on the car to get to work and are stuck in traffic every day are waiting for this, namely very urgently. For ideological reasons, however, the Greens are all too happy to forget the legitimate concerns of motorists. That actually contributes to the division: on the one hand, the road users protected by the Greens, who can travel by subway or bike, and on the other hand, the large mass of people in rural areas who prefer cars are dependent. We have to make a traffic policy that is there for all road users,” emphasizes club chairman Danninger.
