It was 4:45 p.m. when a man returned home to his apartment building on rue d’Himéji in Charleroi. He was then attacked by an individual, armed with a knife. Several blows were struck, the man will keep a gash, before the attacker fled. At first glance, it appears to be an attempted robbery.
The victim was taken care of by a fire brigade ambulance and was taken to hospital – for safety since he was only slightly injured – while several teams from the local Charleroi police with the support of the special forces of the GSA established a security perimeter in the neighborhood. An investigation has been opened and the Charleroi public prosecutor’s office has been informed.
