A Meteoric Rise
Kneecap’s Cork gig was slated to take place almost exactly a year after their previous performance at the same venue. back then, they were an emerging force in the Irish music scene. however, the past twelve months have seen them catapulted to national and international recognition, largely due to the success of their self-titled film. On Friday, the band joined music icons Paul Weller and Primal Scream for a benefit gig at London’s Brixton Academy, supporting a cause they are passionate about: Palestinian rights. Othre concerts scheduled at Cork City Hall are expected to proceed as planned, including Stephanie rainey’s performance on Wednesday, December 18th, and The Mary Wallopers on Monday, December 23rd.Interveiw with The Good Room
Following the recent postponement of Kneecap’s sold-out gig at Cork City Hall, we spoke to a representative from The Good Room, the promoters behind the event, to get some answers.
The Postponement

**The Good Room:** While we can’t go into specifics, unforeseen circumstances arose that made it unfeasible for the show to proceed as planned on the original date. The band and ourselves made the arduous decision to delay the event to ensure the best possible experiance for fans.
**Archyde:** That’s understandable. Many fans have expressed relief at the quick announcement of a new date, February 13th. Was adding an extra show on February 12th always part of the plan?
**The Good Room:** Given the immense popularity of Kneecap, we wanted to give as many fans as possible the chance to see them live.The additional date was a direct response to the overwhelming demand and the disappointment around the postponement.

**The Good Room:** Absolutely. We know this is disappointing news for fans who were looking forward to seeing Kneecap perform. Unluckily, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we had to make the challenging decision to postpone the show.
**Archyde:** For those who had already purchased tickets, what options are available to them?
**The Good Room:** We want to assure all ticket holders that their tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date, which is now Thursday, February 13th, at the same venue, Cork City Hall. We’ve also added an extra show on Wednesday, February 12th, to accommodate as manny fans as possible.

**The Good room:** You’re right, Kneecap’s success has been phenomenal. Their self-titled film brought them to a whole new audience, adn their recent performances alongside music legends like Paul Weller and Primal Scream demonstrate their growing international recognition.
Needless to say, the demand for tickets to see them live is incredibly high. The sold-out nature of their original Cork show is a testament to this.
