Klopp supports Salah to restore his usual level

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he hopes striker Mohamed Salah will restore his scoring prowess soon following a slow start to the Premier League.

Salah, who scored 23 goals in the league last season to share the competition’s top scorer award with Son Heung-min, has not lived up to his level last season so far and scored only two goals in the league.

Klopp explained that the Egyptian star’s lack of goals is not related to the lack of desire, adding that it is not fair to compare him to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who scored his 15th goal in the league this season on Saturday.

“I think Salah’s position is the position of all of us and I hope we get close to the flow of goals, is this his season yet? No, like all of us,” the German coach told reporters before a visit to Arsenal.

“No one in the world can understand Haaland’s position right now, it’s crazy what he’s doing, he’s an exceptional player in an exceptional team and I don’t think he should be compared to any other player now.”

“Salah definitely wants to score goals with full passion, this will not change, following 20 years he will have the same hunger.”

Liverpool occupies tenth place following collecting only ten points from seven matches, before visiting leaders Arsenal on Sunday.
