Klopp: Salah missed the Nottingham match due to lack of readiness

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp revealed the reason for the absence of Mohamed Salah, the Reds player, from facing Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, indicating that he had relieved Sadio Mane so as not to be misunderstood.

Liverpool qualified for the FA Cup semi-finals following defeating Nottingham Forest 1-0, in the absence of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Klopp said in statements following the end of the match: “Salah felt pain in his foot once more, and it is not great, but it was clear that a match like Nottingham might not have pain here or there.”

He added, “At the moment we learned that Salah was not ready, we decided not to involve Mane as well, because the qualifying match for the World Cup is a big deal in Africa.”

He concluded: “I do not want to be misunderstood that I am only giving Salah a rest, so I decided not to involve Mane.”

It is worth noting that Egypt is preparing to face Senegal in the final qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, on March 25 and 29.
