The Korean national soccer team’s FIFA ranking rose to 23rd, one notch higher than last month.

In the FIFA rankings announced on the 30th, the Korean national team led by coach Jürgen Klinsmann ranked 23rd, up one place from 24th in October.

Korea, which was 28th in the July ranking, continued its upward trend for four consecutive months (26th in September and 24th in October).

Klinsmann achieved major wins in both of the two A matches in November, which were held as the second round Asian qualifier for the 2026 North and Central America World Cup.

They won 5-0 in the home game against Singapore on the 16th and 3-0 in the away game against China on the 21st.

Among Asian countries, Japan maintained the highest ranking at 17th. Japan also rose one step like us.

Iran (21st) ranked second among Asian countries, followed by Korea.

Australia rose two places to 25th, ranking fourth among Asian Football Confederation (AFC) member countries.

Looking at the countries competing against Korea in Group E of the Asian Cup, Bahrain ranked 86th, Jordan ranked 87th, and Malaysia ranked 130th.

In the overall rankings, Argentina and France maintained 1st and 2nd place, respectively, while England and Belgium advanced one place to 3rd and 4th place respectively.

Brazil, which lost both of its two South American qualifying matches for the North and Central America World Cup held in November, fell two places from 3rd to 5th.

Brazil lost 1-2 in an away game to Colombia on the 17th, and lost 0-1 in a home game against their ‘old enemy’ Argentina on the 22nd.

Brazil is on a three-game losing streak in the South American qualifiers, including the game against Uruguay in October (0-2 loss).
