88 percent of climate ticket users are satisfied with their ticket. Those surveyed are particularly pleased with the range of transport, the price-performance ratio and road safety. This was the conclusion of a survey conducted by the market research institute QS Research & Consulting on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment.
“The positive feedback on the climate ticket confirms the path we have taken. We will now continue to improve the offer – because every euro that we put into public transport pays off twice and three times over. With the climate ticket we have reached a milestone for affordable, sustainable and modern mobility,” said Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) on Saturday in a broadcast.
According to the survey, the climate ticket is also changing the way people use public transport: mobility behavior has shifted in the direction of public transport, especially among people who have the national ticket (58 percent). They stated that they now use public transport more often than their own car. But this trend was also evident among those who have a regional ticket (36 percent).
The transport offer was rated very differently in the survey – either as a particular strength or as a major deficiency. This was the main point of criticism (87 percent) especially for owners of the national ticket. Respondents who have a regional climate ticket were more satisfied with public transport with regard to their individual mobility needs (78 percent).
Overall, punctuality was rated rather critically. However, travelers who have the Austrian climate ticket were more likely to see an improvement in the quality of public transport compared to the previous year (33 percent compared to 21 percent).
The opinion of the climate ticket users was collected by the market research institute QS Research & Consulting in more than 24,000 interviews with open and closed questions.
