KLAUS ON THE PYHRN RAILWAY. The cultural committee of the municipality of Klaus, chaired by Gertraud Mayr and organizer and artist KAROline Kornek, invite you to a festival for all the senses on Tuesday, August 15th.
While the spotlight at Lokschuppm Klaus usually falls on groovy revival bands, artists such as opera singer Inna Savchenko, writer and poet Margit Margreiter, jazz singer Katarina Enzensberger and many more will soon be on stage. Art is not just color – the participating artist KAROline Kornek lets you feel that a lot of heart and soul is also put into it: “The diverse art in our region is an essential part of our living culture. This event aims to make it visible, audible, tangible and enjoyable.”
“1. Artists Summer Festival”
At the “1. Artists Summer Festival” blends fine arts, literature, music, fashion and gastronomy into an unforgettable experience: photography, woodcuts, wood carvings, hat design, patchwork, bags, fabric printing, goldsmith work and seismography are on the program. With the latter, visitors even have the opportunity to design a workpiece themselves. The event will be staged in culinary terms by the catering “Der Ruzicka”, local “Alpenkaviar” and the Ettenauer winery, among others.
Charity for Ukraine
Under the motto “Charity for the Ukraine”, the artists present will also donate works of art for the raffle, the net proceeds of which will benefit the victims of the Ukraine war. Among others, Gertraud Leitzenberger, photo artist from Steyrling, made works of art by Nikolai Alekseev and Gregor Guatyuk available. In 1994, mediated by the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture, they were guests of what was then the Leitzenberger Gallery. During their stay, not only did a friendship develop between the artists, but also many works of art. Around eight years following the return visit to the Ukraine, there mightn’t be a more suitable stage for two of these works than at the premiere of the artists’ summer festival in Klaus.
