KKR loses to Mumbai Indians
Delhi Capitals set a target of 128 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. Batting first, Kolkata were all out for 127 runs in 20 overs. Opener Jason Roy was the top scorer with 43 runs. Only three other stars have seen double digits. Andre Russell’s batting of 38* off 31 balls with a hat-trick six in the last over helped Kolkata to a respectable score in the last overs.
Having lost all five matches so far this season, Delhi Capitals must win today’s match. A loss in this match would spell the end of Delhi’s playoff chances. So David Warner and his team must win today. The slow batting of skipper Warner and the poor form of big players like Prithvi Shah, Mitchell Marsh and Rowman Powell are all a headache for Delhi.
On the other hand, KKR lost to Mumbai Indians. Even though the batting line-up is improving, bowling is a headache for KKR. Andre Russell is also plagued by injuries. Kolkata, who have lost their last two matches, will be back on the winning track with today’s match. Rinku Singh’s smashing performance and Venkatesh Iyer’s century will give Kolkata some consolation this season.
