KKB arrives in Libreville on Wednesday to take up his duties as ambassador to Gabon –

Appointed last June to the post of Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Gabon with residence in Libreville, Kouadio Konan Bertin, affectionately called “KKB” arrives in the Gabonese capital very early next Wednesday by an Air Côte d’air flight. Kouadio Konan Bertin was born on December 26, 1968 in Lakota in the southwest of Côte d’Ivoire. He joined the PDCI-RDA party in his college years. He is a former president of the Movement of Students of Côte d’Ivoire (MEECI) at the Collège Moderne de Fresco (1984). Kouadio Konan Bertin created the Cell of Reflection and Concrete Actions (CERAC) in 1994.

At the university, he was a member of the movement which opposed the Student and School Federation of Côte d’Ivoire (FESCI), led successively by Martial Joseph Ahipeaud, Guillaume Soro then Charles Blé Goudé. KKB created the PDCI Youth in 1991, an organization of which he took the lead in 2003. This organization’s main objective was to defend the interests of the PDCI-RDA and to supervise students who do not identify with the philosophy of violence as means of control advocated by FESCI. He held this position until December 24, 1999, the date of the first military coup in Côte d’Ivoire.

He holds a Master’s degree in German with a Business Communication option. He held the position of technical advisor at the town hall of Treichville from 2003 to 2011 as well as at the Ministry of Economic Infrastructure in 2010. From December 2011 to December 2015, he was deputy for Port-Bouët. He is the father of 4 children. He is also a member of the political bureau of the PDCI.

According to diplomatic customs, Kouadio Konan Bertin must first present the figurative copies of his appointment to the Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs then to the Head of State before truly taking office.
