The best candidate for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin would be French General Charles de Gaulle. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Bloomberg by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
“When asked who would be the strongest negotiator with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kissinger chose Charles de Gaulle of France. Then he added: “President Nixon would be quite good,” writes Bloomberg.
General Charles de Gaulle was the symbol of French resistance in World War II. He became the founder and first president of the Fifth French Republic. De Gaulle died in 1970.
