Kingston Digital Europe Co LLP, a subsidiary of Kingston Technology Company, Inc. introduces the Kingston IronKey Keypad 200C, a hardware-encrypted USB Type-C1 key that provides both security and convenience. Now users can enjoy smoother data protection compatible with USB-C equipped devices.

The KP200C offers military-grade security certified to FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending), with an operating system-independent alphanumeric keypad offering easier-to-use PIN code access. This USB flash drive has XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption featuring password theft protection with Brute Force and optimal protection of sensitive data with BadUSB, digitally signed firmware.

Additionally, with the Multi-PIN (Administrator/User) option, the device makes it easy to set up a rememberable alphanumeric PIN for Administrator and User accounts. The administrator can restore a PIN code in case the user forgets the code.

The Kingston IronKey Keypad 200C is available with storage capacities up to 256GB. It also comes with a 3-year warranty and free technical support.

Characteristics and specificity of the Kingston IronKey 200C USB key:

• FIPS 140-3 Level 3 Certified (in progress): The KP200 now meets the new FIPS 140-3 military-grade security standards published by NIST; it has passed laboratory certification testing and is under review for final approval by NIST. It is an enhanced version of the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 specification that further strengthens the security and tamper-proof capabilities of the device. It includes 256-bit XTS-AES encryption as well as protection once morest Brute Force and BadUSB attacks using digitally signed firmware. Its circuitry is coated with a special epoxy layer that makes it virtually impossible to remove components without damaging them; this tough epoxy prevents attack on semiconductor components.

• Independent of OS and terminals: The KP200 is equipped with a rechargeable battery. The keypad allows the device to be unlocked without using software, then plugged into any system that supports a USB-C type mass storage device. This gives users the greatest flexibility across different types of platforms and operating systems.

• Multi-PIN Option: User or Admin/User modes can be configured by the user. Admin mode can be used to restore a user PIN and allow access to the device if the user PIN is forgotten or the key is locked following reaching the maximum of 10 user login attempts.

• Global and per-session read-only (write-protect) modes: The administrator and user can set a per-session read-only mode to protect the device from malware on untrusted systems. The administrator can also set a global read-only mode that puts the device in read-only mode until it is reset.
