Kingsley Coman to extend Bayern Munich contract with star salary

It is soon the end of the soap opera. While his contract at Bayern ends in June 2023, Kingsley Coman has chosen to sign up for the duration with the Bavarian club, as reported by L’Equipe. So, as we can confirm, the Frenchman will sign his new contract in the coming days. The duration of this new lease has not yet been filtered out, but it will stretch over several more years.

The extension of the former Parisian will be accompanied by a good revaluation for the latter who will become one of the biggest salaries of Bayern. Probably in the Top 3, behind Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer (between 18 and 20 M € per year), and ahead of Leroy Sané (17 M € per year).

Approaches to Chelsea and City

Arrived on loan over two seasons at Bayern in 2015 from Juventus, Kingsley Coman has asserted himself as a strong element of the German club over the years despite recurring injuries during the adventure. He has already won 17 trophies with the FCB including six Bundesliga and a Champions League won in August 2020 against PSG (1-0), his training club. That day, Coman was the lone scorer in the final with a header that left Keylor Navas no chance.

Gradually, the international tricolor (36 caps, 5 goals) rose to the rank of star in the already rich locker room of Bayern. He knew how to keep the confidence of Didier Deschamps in the selection and aspires, at the end of the year, to play in the World Cup with the Blues. He was not part of the coronation in Russia in 2018.

Several clubs had come forward in recent weeks to secure his services. First Chelsea, who had made an offer. But also Manchester City and his coach Pep Guardiola who had him under his orders in Germany. But it is Bayern Munich who will continue to benefit from the services of the 25-year-old player who has chosen stability for the rest of his career.
