Subsequently, the Council discussed the entirety of the talks that took place between senior officials in the Kingdom and their counterparts in a number of countries around the world during the past days, within the framework of the established relations that this country has with its brothers and friends, based on cooperation and coordination, productive participation in humanitarian issues, and interest in development affairs and its challenges. .

His Excellency the Minister of Information, Mr. Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, explained, in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session, that the Council of Ministers reviewed, in this context, the results of the Kingdom’s participation in the meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 countries, which was held in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, and the highlights it included. Its vision regarding the group’s role in dealing with existing international tensions and restructuring global governance; This contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of multilateral frameworks and their fulfillment of their obligations at the global level.

The Council reiterated what the Kingdom confirmed during its participation in the high-level Disarmament Conference held at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It supports regional and international efforts to ban all types of weapons of mass destruction, and welcomes intensified cooperation to confront current and future challenges in outer space and reduce its threats.

Council of Arab Interior Ministers

The Council of Ministers praised the outcomes of the (forty-first) session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, stressing the Kingdom’s constant keenness to support and enhance joint Arab action in all fields. In a way that contributes to establishing the foundations of security, stability and prosperity in the region.

Developments in the regional and international arenas

The Council followed developments on the regional and international arenas, especially developments in the Palestinian territories, once again calling for limiting the aggravation of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, and the escalation of military operations that threaten international peace and security.

Local affairs

Regarding the local issue, the Council of Ministers appreciated what the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) had achieved in adding large quantities to the proven reserves of gas and condensates in the unconventional Jafoura field, praying to God Almighty to bestow all goodness on this nation and its people.

The Council expressed its appreciation for the praise of the United Nations Tourism Organization and the World Travel and Tourism Council for the Kingdom’s arrival to more than 100 million tourists during the year 2023, and for the continuous steps and tireless efforts to enhance its position on the global tourism map.

Topics on its agenda

The Council of Ministers reviewed the topics on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council participated in studying. It also reviewed what the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Council of Political and Security Affairs, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts of the Council of Ministers had concluded regarding this matter. Authorizing His Royal Highness the Minister of Energy – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Malaysian and Tanzanian sides regarding two draft memorandums of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of Malaysia and the government of the Federal Republic of Tanzania, for cooperation in the field of energy.

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Sports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Republic of Indonesia, for cooperation in the fields of youth and sports.

Third

Approval for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to join the International Drought Resistance Alliance.

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Investment – or his representative – to discuss with the Barbadian side a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of Barbados, for cooperation in the field of encouraging direct investment, and to sign it.

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Health – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Turkmen side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in health fields between the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry in the State of Turkmenistan.

Eighth

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Environment Agency in the Sultanate of Oman, in the field of nuclear and radiation safety and radiation protection.

Ninth

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Singapore Standardization Agency in the Republic of Singapore.

Approval of the National Privatization Center’s membership in the International Organization for Partnership Units between the Public and Private Sectors.
