King Charles was surprised by an “unexpected kiss” while greeting the audience.. Video

Britain’s King Charles III received a kiss on the cheek as he greeted the public for the first time as king on Friday following returning with Queen Consort Camilla to Buckingham Palace in London today following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at the age of 96 on Thursday.

The video published by Sky News shows Charles III walking past the crowd that had gathered outside the palace and shook hands with several of his subjects. He paused briefly in front of a woman who asked him if she might kiss him, and before that.

Britain’s Daily Telegraph reported that Camilla closely followed what was happening behind Charles when he met the crowd before she joined him to view the flowers that were left at the palace gates in honor of Elizabeth.

The Telegraph reported that chants of Charles’ name might be heard as he walked in the ranks of the people, and Charles was scheduled to give a televised address to his people at 6pm. UK time, Parliament will swear allegiance to him.
