“When Harry called his stepmother Camilla ‘wicked’ in his book and revealed that both he and William initially begged their father not to marry her, Harry committed what Charles considers a cardinal sin,” said Christopher Andersen, author of “The King. “
“Nobody dislikes Camilla in royal circles and doesn’t get away with it – not even if you’re the king’s son,” Andersen warned.
Andersen’s comments came shortly after People magazine reported that estrangement had worsened between the Duke of Sussex and the monarch, who is battling an undisclosed form of cancer.
According to the report, father and son had “a positive meeting” in February. However, their communication has since deteriorated. Those close to Harry, 39, have claimed the monarch, 75, is not taking any of his son’s calls or responding to his letters.
“It’s going ‘unavailable right now,'” a friend claimed. “His calls remain unanswered. He tried to reach out to find out about the king’s health, but those calls too remain unanswered.”
The friend claimed there was “complete silence” from the king.
Sources also told the report that Harry’s brother Prince William has aligned himself with his father, making any hope of a reconciliation “remote at best”. Some palace insiders claimed to the newspaper that Harry’s memoir “Spare” and his public interviews “jeopardized the family’s trust in him”.
Those close to Harry insisted that if the prince had proper insurance, which he lost after stepping down in 2020, he would not need to speak publicly to pay for it.
