Queen Camilla will reunite with King Charles at Birkhall, where the couple honeymooned in 2005. The Queen will join the king at Balmoral Estate later this week to kick off the royal family’s summer holiday, The Express can reveal. Camilla will meet the monarch at Birkhall’s ‘hidden home’, which is on the estate in Scotland and is seen as the ‘perfect retreat’ for the monarch’s privacy as he continues his cancer treatment.

“Camilla has been spending time with her family over the past few weeks and will be heading to Balmoral later this week,” the source told The Express. “Birkhall is like a second home to them both, they love it. Not only is it where they honeymooned, but it’s also where they enjoy spending time together away from prying eyes,” the insider continued. Birkhall isn’t just Charles and Camilla’s favourite place to be – it was also the honeymoon hideaway of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Kent and Princess Alexandra and Angus Ogilvy. Situated at the heart of the Balmoral estate, the royal holiday retreat was once occupied by the late Queen Mother during her visits to Scotland. It’s understood the King and Queen will also be staying at Birkhall when the rest of the royal family arrive at the estate.
