Britain’s King Charles III will undergo a medical procedure next week. In this regard, he will temporarily cease to perform public duties, transmits January 17 TASS with reference to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
“The king required treatment due to an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s tumor is benign, he will go to hospital next week,” the agency quotes a message from the British authorities.
The statement notes that there is nothing unusual in the diagnosis and the king needed help, “like thousands of men every year.”
Recall that Charles III ascended the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II. The British monarch is 75 years old. He set a kind of record – he was the longest-serving heir to the throne (70 years) and the Prince of Wales in the history of England; for most of his life, Charles III was known as “Prince Charles.”
