King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, left today, Friday, Balmoral Castle in Scotland, heading to the capital, “London”.
The British “Sky News” channel reported in its English-language publication that the King and Queen are on their way to Aberdeen International Airport and then to London.
Earlier, Buckingham Palace said today, Friday, that a period of mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth II will begin from now until seven days following the funeral, without confirming the date of the funeral.
“After the death of Queen Elizabeth, there is a period of royal mourning from now until seven days following the Queen’s funeral,” the palace added.
Regardless of the national mourning – which is expected to be determined by the government today – royal mourning will be held by members of the royal family, employees of the royal family, representatives of the royal family on official duties as well as forces committed to ceremonial duties.
Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, died at her home in Scotland on Thursday at the age of 96.
