Tom Parker Bowles, stepson of King Charles and Camilla, has spoken candidly about his health concerns. Queen Camilla’s son told People that the monarch’s cancer diagnosis was “very worrying”.
The king has an unknown form of cancer for which he receives weekly treatment. However, that treatment was interrupted during his trip to the southern hemisphere last week. “It’s a scary disease and when someone close to you is affected by it in any capacity, it’s very disturbing,” Parker Bowles said, adding: “But my mother is also strong. She supports him in every way. I think it’s great to have someone you love by your side.”
Parker Bowles, who is promoting a new book about the royal eating habits, continued: ‘She’s doing her best. He follows the advice of his doctors. Fingers crossed, touch wood.”
Speaking about his mother he said: “I’m incredibly proud of her. He is at an age when most people think of retirement, but he never complains. he just gets on with it.”
King Charles plans to return to a “full schedule” of spring and autumn tours abroad in 2025, the UK’s Sunday Times reports. Still receiving treatment for an unspecified cancer, Charles “hopes to survive long enough” to return to Samoa, where Charles attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in recent days after a high-profile first flight to Australia .
Aides told The Times that Charles had “thrived” working throughout his illness. Two doctors accompanied him to Australia. Charles had “really loved” his first trip abroad since his diagnosis. Charles had taken a “mind, body and soul” approach to his treatment.
