King Abdul Aziz Distributes Prizes at International Qur’an Competition in Makkah Haram

Makkah King Abdul Aziz distributed prizes to the winners of the International Qur’an Competition. Amir Badr bin Sultan, Deputy Governor of Makkah, announced the winners and honored them with prizes on behalf of King Salman at a ceremony held at Makkah Haram. The winners were felicitated at a specially arranged stage in the courtyard of Makkah Haram.

In the first category, Ayub bin Abdulaziz Alwuhaibi, a contestant from Saudi Arabia, won the first place and won the grant prize of 500,000 Riyals. Saad bin Saadi Sulaim from Algeria came second and Abulhassan Hassan Naj from Chad came third. They received a cash prize of 4.5 lakh riyals and 4 lakh riyals respectively.

In the second category, Ammar bin Salim Al-Shahri from Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Adnan Al-Amri from Bahrain, and Abdul Aziz bin Malik Atali from Syria won the first to third positions and received prizes of three lakh riyals, two and a half lakh riyals and two and a half lakh riyals. In the third category, Muhammad bin Ibrahim Muhammad from Somalia, Shuaib bin Muhammad Hasan from Sweden, Faisal Ahmad from Bangladesh, Muhammad Mufid Al-Issa from Indonesia and Sirajuddin Muhammad Kindi from Libya reached the first to fifth positions respectively. They received a prize of 2,00,000 Rials, 1,90,000 Rials, 1,80,000 Rials, 1,70,000 Rials and 1,60,000 Rials.

In the fourth category, contestant Mohamed Ghazi from Senegal came first, Hatim Abdelhamid Falah from Libya came second, Yaseen Abdurrahman from Uganda came third, Mushfiqurahman from Bangladesh came fourth and Abdulqadir Yusuf Muhammad from Somalia came fifth. They received a prize of 1,50,000 Rials, 1,40,000 Rials, 1,30,000 Rials, 1,20,000 Rials and 1,10,000 Rials respectively.

In the fifth category, Ilyas Abdu from the French island nation of Reunion, Ibrahim Shahbandari from India, Marwan bin Shalal from the Netherlands, Mustafa Sananovic from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Hasib Amrullah from North Macedonia came in first to fifth places respectively. They received a prize of 65,000 Riyal, 60,000 Riyal, 55,000 Riyal, 50,000 Riyal and 45,000 Riyal.

Ayyub Alwuhaibi said that he was very happy to win the first category of the competition and received the grand prize and this achievement is the result of the great efforts made by his parents since his childhood. Emirs, scholars, ambassadors of various countries, government officials, a group of preachers and Khateebs of Makkah and others attended the closing ceremony. The Minister of Religious Affairs said that God has blessed the rulers of the country in teaching, printing and publishing the Qur’an since the time of King Abdul Aziz. Abdul Aziz bin Al Sheikh said.
