Kim Jung-gyun, Asian Games LoL manager, resigns

Coach Kim Jung-gyun has announced his intention to resign as coach of the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.

The Korea e-Sports Association said on the 22nd that it had received a notice of resignation from coach Kim Jung-gyun. He said that he would like to discuss it a little more with director Kim Jung-gyun over the weekend. The association said, “After the final discussion, we will report to the Performance Improvement Committee and discuss it following receiving coach Kim Jung-gyun’s intention.”

Coach Kim Jeong-gyun held a press conference for the national team leader in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games LoL event at the S-Plex Center in Mapo-gu on the 21st. Coach Kim Jung-gyun criticized the Asian Games schedule and selection method at this meeting. He also expressed his grievances regarding the public opinion that the director should speak up regarding this situation early.

The association plans to talk directly with director Kim Jung-gyun this weekend. It is expected that the final course of director Kim Jung-gyun will be decided according to the situation therefollowing.
