According to the legal community on the 20th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office conducted a search and seizure of the residence of Mr. A, an entertainment agency official, on the 17th and secured Mr. A’s mobile phone. Former Chairman Kim fled in December 2019 ahead of an arrest warrant review, and was arrested by the police in April 2020, five months later, at a villa in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. Mr. A is the person who booked a hotel room in Gangnam, Seoul where former Chairman Kim hid for a month. Prosecutors are also suspicious of whether Mr. A helped former chairman Kim escape.
